Dewey-Humboldt History

Dewey and Humboldt were unincorporated towns until recently. Aggressive annexation efforts eastbound on Arizona Highway 69 by Prescott Valley alarmed local residents enough to organize and put incorporation to a vote. On December 20, 2004 the Town of Dewey-Humboldt was created and in effect protects its own future.

Dewey-Humboldt Attractions

Dewey-Humboldt's greatest attraction is the natural setting of the place known as "Arizona's Country Town." Dewey is the traditional farming town with wide open fields for farming and grazing. Humboldt is the old mining town, with historic buildings and artifacts. Now, the main attractions are the cool mountain breezes that provide a welcome respite to valley residents suffering from extended summer heat in nearby desert valleys.
