Recreation and Pines Real Estate

Because of the recreational popularity of the pines, the Prescott Area Association of REALTORS® has created the Recreation and Pines section of the MLS. Now areas such as Groom Creek, Walker, Potato Patch and Highland Pines have a dedicated market area.

When looking for homes and land that are specifically within these areas, make sure to mention area "600", the code used in our local MLS. By subscribing to these listings, you can find that log cabin or acreage in the woods that you have been looking for. Best advice is to shut down that computer and take a trip to Prescott to visit our wonderful backcountry.

Recreation and Pines Destinations

Many of Arizona's residents went to summer camp in our area at some point during their childhood. These outings made lasting impressions on people—I have often heard stories from clients and visitors who recall going to camp in the Prescott National Forest.

One of the more popular areas is the Lynx Lake Recreation Area. The 55-acre lake is stocked with rainbow trout by the Arizona State Game and Fish Department. There are also two campgrounds at Lynx Lake. Nearby, there is the Groom Creek Horse Camp, a campground designed for day trips and overnight stays for people with horses.

Also, make sure to check out the miles of hiking trails including: Wolf Creek Falls, Isabella Trail, and the Charcoal Kiln Trail, all of which are in the Recreation and Pines areas of Prescott.
